Florida is home to beautiful beaches and plenty of things to do, so it’s the perfect state for a new phlebotomist who is searching for a job.
It also ranks fourth on the list of the most populous states in the country, so there are millions of people who use medical services.
This creates a number of opportunities for phlebotomists. Despite the state’s popularity, some cities have a lower cost of living than large cities in other states.
Jacksonville’s cost of living, for example, is 3 percent lower. The difference is mostly due to the lower cost of housing in this city, which is 18 percent lower than the national average. Some costs are higher in Jacksonville, however. Transportation costs 16 percent more than the national average and utilities cost about 5 percent more than the national average.

Be aware that the location you select will have an impact on your salary. The median certified phlebotomist salary in Miami is $29,243, while the annual salary is slightly higher in Delray Beach, which has a median annual salary of $29,786.
Because Florida has several Air Force Bases, including MacDill, Tyndall, Eglin, and Patrick, there are a number of additional employment opportunities available for military personnel.
