College of Staten Island also offers an excellent phlebotomy program. Its phlebotomy program consists of 174 hours of training. The first Fifty-four hours are dedicated to classroom learning. The remaining 120 hours are dedicated to clinical skills. This college is located in Staten Island, the county of Richmond.

York College is another college that offers a certificate at the end of its training program. This course is a nine week program that offers classroom skills and hand-on clinical training concerning venipuncture and safety procedures. This college is located in the borough of Queens within Queens County.

Other Training Opportunities in NYC

In NYC, phlebotomy courses are also offered by American Red Cross facilities. These courses include 28 hours of classroom time broken into four hour sessions. Students receive classroom knowledge and practical skills concerning safety and blood collection procedures. Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded a certificate of completion. Such students can register with the National HealthCareer Association in order to receive certification.
